1a.m. Retreat

Last weekend, while everyone on long holiday, fifty plus of us went away to seek God! ahem... i mean we retreated to Peacehaven to spend time worshipping God and also plan for 2012.

Waking up to mornings of worshipping and just walking along hallways that were filled with the sound of worship is really beyond nice. Is heaven gonna be like this?! I want to be there. In the Presence of God and yet worshipping the Presence of God.

The team building session. We were blindfolded and asked to build a octagon with seven people in a group.

At night, each group presented an idea on "How to engage worship to save lives"

Every group did oustandingly and the presentation time was hilarious as usual! Tham was in my group and he freehand drew our "presentation" chart board. So we didn't use the powerpoint but power-charted it ourselves!

The retreat was really good for the worshippers' soul. Spending time in God's presence, listening to God's words and worshipping brings us alignment to be in one accord. During one of the night session, they played the "HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD" preaching video by Louie Giglio. I've watched couple of times before and I know what he was gonna show in the photos yet I still cried like a baby. The awesomeness of God. The bigness of God. The unfathomable God. It just reminded me once again on how I've belittled God in my day in day out routine and aligned myself once again to rcorgnise that HE is the one in charge and HE is more than able to do it.

Indeed. How great is our God!

This is a little side tracked. I joined the working adults for lunch at Gohtong Jaya and guess what! We found this thing that look like a baby scorpion in the tea! Everyone at our table were trying to figure out whether is it real or not. But we continued to drink the tea. So far nobody complained yet. So I guess what did not kill us were ok kwa..

Eaglepoint Annual Dinner

When it comes to food in the office, I will definitely blog about it.. especially on the dinner that has been dubbed as the "Eaglepoint Annual Dinner"! Every year, usually at the end of the year, Frank and Cecilia will generously invite all the church staffs to their place for THE sumptious-ness-ess dinner of the year. =P

All the staffs do try NOT to miss the dinner and we tried so hard for everyone to make it that it was pushed to Feb. But still Chrystin had to miss it cos she's still holiday-ing at Australia and also there was a last minute event that some of the Relent did not come in the end. Of course they took the tah pau. I took some tah pau myself. hehehe...

And to tease you, here's the spread for the evening...

lamb shanks! oooo... i love...

pork ribs... i guess they remember pc mentioning it last year and it appeared at this year's menu!

there's the chef...relating the cooking experience.. the meat had to be stewed for 2 hours the day before and then only grilled today for hours again.

and.. and.. and THAT PASTA! love it!

Salad. salad. There were two kinds. One with dressing and another without salad!

The delicious mushroom soup! They cook the soup, ladle into each bowl, add the pastry on top of each bowl and baked it with the oven again for this!

and this I love too! the mashed potato! I usually take two servings even though it's absolutely fattening! opss...

fried fish fillet. looks normal but the texture is really GOOD! YUMM!

Grilled chicken thigh!

Setting the kids table!

The dessert!

All the desserts!

NOW, you understand why none of the staffs will miss it? ahahha... but if your family would like to invite the church staffs to your feasts, please feel free to come out with a simpler menu. We will be equally as grateful! =)

But once again, a HUGE THANK YOU TO THE LIEW's for feeding the ever-hungry staffs!

*side note to self: i am terrible at taking food photo! ok. I'm just terrible with taking photos! I think I need lessons from 1a.m. Click! hahaha..

Last Christmas...

Every year in the month of December, the staffs will have a office christmas party! Last December I decided to throw it at this cozy restaurant call "LITTLE ITALY". It's actually one of my more frequented dining place. I like the food there and it's not costly. I went earlier to setup the place and also be there to welcome my fellow colleagues when they arrive.

The set menu lunch that they had was really not my style so I asked for permission to make my own. I printed them in alternate green and red paper for them to tick on their choice.

The party also double as farewell for Jaime because after Christmas, everyone will be on hols here and there. It would be hard to gather everyone. Truly want to take this opportunity to thank her for her serving and working together side by side for the past months. The church has been more cozy with little bits and details from her thoughfulness. From a church member, she's become a friend and family to the colleagues. We will surely miss her.

ok. since it's hard to gather everyone, they tripled the party into a simple birthday celebration for me as well. Partor Steven came with two boxes of tarts that I thought was to be the dessert for the lunch but it's actually my birthday 'cake'. hahaha...

the party ended with a game for gift exchange (but of course everyone gets a gift too).

So, Merry Christmas has ended and Happy New Year has come. Wishing everyone a great God-centered year ahead! =)

The Heavenly Gift 2011

After about twenty days of the booth at IOI Mall, it's finally the day for the gift giving! Not just to the orphanages, but also to the poor families! This Christmas, we gave away providence for about eighty families!

These are the gift packs that we'd spent a week purchasing, sorting and wrapping. Big thanks to Chee Wei and Agape and the buying team for putting these all together. There were at least two days, the team stayed up till past midnight just to get things ready.

Early morning on Dec 24th, we gathered at Tesco Puchong to pay and load the groceries to the lorry. Although there were some delay at Tesco, we were still able to make it in time and ended an hour ahead of time due to the efficiency of the people!

Upon arrival at the hall, we started with a quick briefing and straight on to making boxes and sorting out the groceries into each box.

Many volunteers came and lend a helping hand, making work light!

Chris (left) is one of the main committee member in making The Heavenly Gift a success. Daryl (right) came as the event photographer also brought two friends to help out and he went hands on in carrying the groceries too.

The Project Manager of The Heavenly Gift is Sharon, under the supervision of Pr Timothy. Chris is the lead in relates to the community, Mei Fung is the lead pertaining to the booth at IOI Mall and Agape is the lead in regards to purchasing. And of course we were assisted by many many many volunteers!

The volunteers even help to carry it all the way up to the families' apartment unit.

The Heavenly Gift 2011 has ended and we are the midst of consolidating accounts but Food Bank will be starting for the next twelve months and we hope that through the Financial Literacy Class, more and more families learns about financial freedom and able to walk out of the way of poverty. Once more, a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you that had chipped in in any way. We wouldn't have done it without you.

Pr Tim Bday @ Office Celebration

I guess I may have missed out on blogging about this!

We had a delayed celebration for Pr Tim because he went away to a conference for almost a week and with everyone's busy schedule we finally managed to squeeze in a quick on hour all-in celebration! And so it happens, someone gave us a box of pastries the week before. Ngam lah... use for food time for everyone.
