a glimpse into my view of 04-04-09 (sat)

on fri night, the office is in an all out shifting back to the rooms. the creative life chipped in and helped to carry and clean up upstairs. but there were just too many small details to arrange, 'chap' and put back that after everyone left, some of us stayed till about 2am before leaving the hall to come back the next day...

standing on the stairs are Chris and SK, two of the brains and strength behind the whole facelift project. they even stick the display board themselves!! they did it till 1plus am and were very proud of the end result.

true enough, during snl, people actually stand there to take photo with it! ahahha... yeah!

all tired and aching, i went home, showering is a great chore... i felt the two step to my bed took tremendous efforts...
just when i close my eyes, it's time to open eyes and get back to office. hahha.. oh well.. came in, skipped dance class (i'm supposed to be practicing for Easter dance for the next weekend!!!) and clear the stage, get people to wipe, clean and vacuum the hall ..

upstairs were having ENLI Sem 4 classes in small groups discussions....

though the rain caused leakages from the ceiling to the back wall, it's still ok. we can look into it later... (can still tell ppl it's part of deco with flowing wall? hahaa)..

band having practice, the sound team were still doing sound check, setting the lights direction and ppl started coming in.

downstairs looks pretty set and ready for 5pm service... everyone admiring the new look... all proud and rejoicing... with their ooohhs.. and ahhhs....

i went back to check on ENLI,

right when sit down in my office for a breather...

lo and behold.... about 3pm,
the water pipe in the single toilet BROKE and water BURST from the toilet INTO the NEW carpet flooding the hall... ahahahahahha...

i quickly went down to inspect the damages, saw Orathai (Roger's wife) with and directing the teens to mop the floor and soak up the water and guys trying to hold the big bin so that the water flow into the bin instead of straight to the hall... i got someone to bring down the industrial fan and blow on the floor and went to look for the stopper to close the tap ... ah... but there is NONE! haahah... so end up even though we turn off the main pipe from the 'meter,' the entire water tank had to come all out. so........ it's been 200 gallon watery day! hahahah...
then suddenly, there was electricity trip - lights out! hahaha..... fits in to the perfectly imperfect day...

we called soooo many plumber but none could come... in the end, one made it at 4:45pm... and started hacking the wall (ting ting ting) during praise and worship... and started drilling (ggggrrrrrrr) during communion... ahahhaha..... but nonetheless, he fixed it!! yahoo...

THEN... cos the tank is empty mar so NO water pulak... oh well..... 5pm & snl & sun services all have no toilet to use... hahaha...

but through this entire toilet episode, Roger took it upon himself to make sure the toilet is back to normal. called and fetch the plumber and even paid for it. He really waited till everything settled and water came back before he left. and the next day when he came, he also immediately check on it and helped me call the plumber and all that. i'm truly glad for him to be around and to share the load and committed to it that i didnt have to deal with everything by myself. i really am grateful for his presence.
then SNL have a strange projector with super size wordings projecting that refuse to go back to the normal size during worship... ah well.. another piece fitting into the perfectly imperfect day! =P

end of the day, i shot an email to pastor tim (in japan) to report the weekend. He replied, "Serving God is meant for those strong hearted or strong coffee hearted ... : )"

i've to agree with him totally cos if my heart is slightly less strong, i told pastor that i think this weekend I would have had a heart attack and died and gone to meet with God d lor... hahaha...

for the real LOOK and FEEL of the new eaglepoint, you've got to come here and experience it yourself. my thousand words wont be able to say it...

all in all, it's been a rather excitingly adventurous field day! but at the end of the end, when i got home aching all over and tired to the bones, at least i know that i've done what i could to make the house of God welcoming to anyone, especially for the visitors to come home, i can clear my conscience before God and before my pastors and i can sleep well. =)

*the worship song for the weekend are aptly these words....
If not for your goodness
if not for your grace
I don't know where I would be today
if not for your kindness
I never could say I'm still standing

if not for your mercy
if not for your love
I most likely would have given up
if not for your favor I never could say
I'm still standing
but by the grace of God

!!! hahahaha.... GOD KNOWS ....

  2. we can all pull through without sharon cos we are with God.... i'm not super woman, dear.
    i wanted to cry,
    i felt so stressed,
    stretched,
    at the same time
    i cant drop the ball,
i need to bite the bullet...
    i lamented and
    i 'prescribed' myself with sushi...
    i walk around like zombie,
i cant sleep at night thinking...

and i HANG on to God's grace.
and i cried out loud to God...
and i told Him what i cant handle...

it's His grace that pull everything through it all...
many ppl chipped in bits and pieces too.
if u are here, i would have dragged u in too.. hehhehe... missed those times i can just text u to pray for me.

i didnt do it all. i'm grateful for that.
