i had an accident

i got into an accident yesterday at about 12:12pm.
the worse thing was i bang my pastor/my boss/the upcoming bride's car..

i was driving pc from the frame shop to go home. we were driving along jalan puchong (at the junction of the yong tau foo and temple) and i was behind a bus and then i signal to go right and then go striaght. it's supposedly no traffic light for going straight but red light for those turning right. but the aunty in the first car stopped, assuming it's red. the perdana bang her, i bang the perdana. but our car was the worse.

i was really really shaken and trembling and the car was sputtering and liquid leaking and smoke coming out and i was really trembling from inside out. i've been driving pc's car for like the past 6 years and i never bang her car and the first time i do it, i did it to the worst. obviously it's towed to the workshop opposite church! hahaha...
you must be wondering why did i post this here instead of my personal blog right. so, this is what i think:-
1. BELIEVE - discovering a life with God
through all these, i belive that the hands of God was upon us, protecting us and covering us in grace, comforting us (more like comforting me cos pc was really cool about it) and His peace was at the scene because nobody was hurt and none of the drivers came out arguing and shouting. we all talked nicely and even the husband of the aunty came and when i apologised to him, he was like "it's ok, nobody wanted this. it's just unavoidable. it's ok..."

2. BELONG - discovering a life with others
after we drove to the side, pc called charles. well, almost everyone that knows him calls him when there's an accident. he's the best! charles was nearby and he came immedaitely. when he arrived, he told us what to do, he went to get the guy from the workshop to get someone trustable to tow our car, took us to the police station, told us how to write the report before passing us to kelvin and the workshop guy. having him around gives us assurance that someone knows what to do.
and being the ladies there, i can tell u that it was traumatising to have like 10 other guys stopping by just to get business from you. they were aggresive and when we say our friend is coming, they immediately turn around and started accusing us of being the wrong party and it's all our fault and everyone is to claim our insurance. when charles came, he defended us, stood in front of us and answered all the accusations calmly and to leave it to the hands of the police.
nobody asked if we were alright. i was standing there shaking and trembling and having these 'men' pointing fingers at me. without pc and charles there, i think i will burst right out into sobs. u want to know what is church? this is what church means. we stand with each other!!

3. BECOME - discovering a life with purpose
during this accident, pc didnt scold me or was sad about the car or the trouble without car right before the wedding or the happenings because she knows that it's just a car and it does not rule our lives and just got to get it fixed. part of managing life includes accidents. and she was totally not deterred from continuing to plan and take care of things for her wedding immediately after that. superwoman!

one other thing i discovered in this incident is that when someone is in an accident, please don't shrug them off as though it's a normal affair to be shaken after an accident. assure the person it's gonna be ok soon. one step at a time. hug them and sayang them and tell them u're here for them. if they need you, u'll be there.
and the other thing i discovered is that no matter whose fault it is, the person behind gets the saman - RM300 (compound to RM200 whatever that means).
the other other thing i discovered is that every time after i'm shaken badly (the last was the monkeys and now this) i really need to cry it all out - the wailing kind - to release from the mental tension. i cried in the toilet when i reach my aunty's shop at about 5pm, i cried on the way driving home about 7pm plus and i wailed out loud in the car after i parked below my apt at about 8pm plus. after that i think i'm on the journey of healing. i didnt have nightmare because i was really really drained after the whole day affair. i dropped to a dead sleep last night. i didnt even realised i was that tired. God's peace abounds more than the affairs of the world. God gave me rest.

*side note - i didnt post this blog for you to buy 4-digit yah... ahahahhaahha.. just kidding
just wanted to show u guys this.

1.
the pastoral team meets fortnightly at pastor's house to plan and pray for the church. last monday, they stayed all the way up till like 11pm after the meeting just to get the new church facelift plans finalised. i was there to decide the color and plans for the office. ahaha... so i took a shot without them realising.
Everyone wants the best for the church. my apologies if u cant see SK's face there. if u see the angle of everyone, they are all looking at SK presenting the themes of the new reno. in a month's time u'll see a whole new look of Eaglepoint!! woo hoo....

2.
this is your senior pastor, teresa and baby joanna. (eee... she's so cute! hahah...)
a father, a husband at home. he's the superhero we know, but he's also the loving familyman at home.
just caught this pic of "family-ness" for you guys to see a different perspective of him! =)

concerned seniors

while we were clearing stuffs in the church, there was a group of concerned seniors preparing for freshie party in the office. they did the booklet, photocopied, printed the cover, put it all together to produce this super useful survival kit for the freshies. that is soooo good. when newbies in the uni are looking lost, at least there are some ppl they can call for help. they put a lot of thoughts into this and sincerely tries their best to do what can be helpful for the juniors...
good job guys!
this is chrystin. and she's the life group leader championing this round of freshie party for the LUCT students. Steven K, Chris was here too but then now went to meeting. i think Sze Mun helped put the info together and Aaron put it into design and i'm sure there are many others that are involved to make the PARTY day itself happening... a round of applause for all u guys! keep it up! =)

office clearance

in a couple of weeks' time, we are renovating the church. thanks to a group of good men, they are going to give the church a new face lift! hence, "church clearance" ... everyone is supposedly clearing, packing, throwing stuffs... it started today. me and pastor with the library, ps steven n beesean with the youth room!

ps steven was very proud that he'd managed to clear these boxes away and specifically asked me blog this... so here it is...
see. see. see. less stuffs... ah hah.
these are ALL the things we are throwing away.... plus two boxes given away.
coincidentally, a pastor from another church was here so he wanted the entire collection of barnes commentary which i happily gave away (plus some other materials that pastor tim say sayang to give away but i gave some away too)... better give away than throw... i was so happy that someone wanted it that pastor tim say i was funny cos so excitedly give it all away.. ahhaha.....

but these are ALLLLLLL the research books that pastor still wants to keep! hahahahahahaha....
but the champion thing is this - the goal is to shrink the entire library into only these two shelves... i wonder how is that possible... ah.. but today is only round one clearing. continue on friday.... he he he he...
this is supposedly the leadership resource corner. the magazines at the top i need to clear wan but since i already washed my hands, i'll let it stay there till tommorrow. but at least be proud of the empty spaces... the rest on the shelves are for keep also................. hmmm.....
while i'm at this, please be informed that we have recycle bins, so do throw accordingly... =)

last but not least, i must mention this - I BROKE ONE NAIL! jor.... ah well... that's just for laughs... but i did broke one nail and i should have taken a shot of how black my hands were. good thing i didnt went and did manicure this afternoon, else i wont be able to be hands on.... hahaha....

a wedding

last weekend, a couple from church tied the knot at equatorial hotel. it was a simple, simply beautiful time. Shaun the groom, Mei Fung the bride.
Pastor shared a simple message. when many in this time will not choose this but this two person chose to keep purity before marriage, take the journey to work through premarital counselling, make a personal vow to each other... it's beautiful... i was sitting next to the family and the whole row of mother and sisters were sniffing. it was really touching to see them come together...

as u can see i'm sitting at the side so i cant get the front view of the couple and therefore cant show u the pretty bride. real pretty!!!
this is the dinner hall.. the deco is sooo cute. the couple making a speech.i was seating with the pastors...

this is just for laugh... the girls were comparing shoes and here came a male leather shoes joining into the conversation! it's really funny... guess who's shoe is that? ............*drum roll........... pastor tim's ! ahahaha... that's how funny your senior pastor is. i guess we were just all in a celebrative mood. happy for the couple, rejoicing in the atmosphere and be light hearted.... that's fellowship yo! an issue dropped from heaven

let me share a little about how great is my god.

i forgot about coming out with the point. things happen and it just slipped my mind.. by the time i remember about it, it was soooo last min and sooo rush that i knew none of my usual designers can come out with the cover design for me - not matter how i beg them cos i also happen to know what are the other list of things they are rushing for. so i know i'm doomed for my own fault. but...
but the secret is i've got the best god ever! right when i was thinking what am i gonna do, god dropped this into my heart - "do it yourself. do a drop of blood. put the word 'forgiven' and full stop it with the cross".

it's not the award-winning design ever but it's real to everyone who'd encountered the forgiveness of the cross. it's simple. it's simply real.

suddenly, i came to be at peace. no stress over it, no fret over it. so i went to search for a drop of blood kind of picture (many gory ones came out and spoiled my breakfast appetite!!!) and came across this photo. i kinda plonk it in like how i imagined it with my minimal design skills, sent it to the pastoral staffs for opinions (didnt want to scare the kids just in case) and the response was go ahead.

so this became the cover of the mar/apr THE POINT.
i post this just want to let you know that the church's newsletter sometimes 'drop from sky'... ahahahha.... enjoy it - the issue sent from heaven.
